NWS confirms EF-0 tornado in Town ‘n’ Country

TOWN ‘N’ COUNTRY, Fla. — The National Weather Service released its investigation into a possible tornado near the Villages of Bayport Community on Sunday, and they were able to confirm that a waterspout did move onshore.

According to their report, around 6:58 p.m. the waterspout moved onshore and produced winds up to 79 mph. The path of the tornado was around .36 miles and was around 75 yards wide. The NWS gave this tornado a rating of EF-0.

Damage was reported in the area to a single pool cage as well as some other debris that was thrown into the air. Residents in the area also reported minor damage to structures. One large tree was blown over as well.

A very brief area of rotation was indicated on radar as the waterspout moved ashore. (Spectrum News)
