Guerrero Jr. returns to Blue Jays lineup for series finale against Marlins

Guerrero Jr., who missed the past two games after being hit on the elbow by a pitch, will bat second and play first base.

He is slashing .287/.386/.372 with three homers and 22 RBI on the season.

Right fielder Nathan Lukes is also back in the starting lineup at leadoff after sitting out Tuesday’s 8-1 win over the Marlins.

The Blue Jays also shuffled their pitching staff befoe the game, sending reliever Tanner Andrews to triple-A after two scoreless appearances and recalling right-hander Austin Voth.

Voth could be in line for a start on Friday, when the injured Dylan Cease’s turn next comes up. The 33-year-old has made one appearance for the big-league club this season, allowing one run over 2.2 innings on April 5 against the Chicago White Sox.

He was 1-2 with a 2.90 earned-run average over eight starts with the Bisons this season.

Ace Kevin Gausman gets the start for the Blue Jays while the Marlins counter with right-hander Eury Perez on Wednesday.
