BREAKING: Massive fire breaks out at Penticton construction site

A massive fire broke out in southern Penticton on Wednesday night, May 27, with flames visible as far as Okanagan Falls.
Crews responded to Green Avenue West after 10 p.m., at the site of a future long-term care facility that broke ground on construction in November 2025.
The Channel Parkway is closed in both directions.
A road closure is also in effect at Brandon Avenue and Paris Street to Green Avenue, near the Penticton Walmart.
The Penticton Fire Department, FortisBC, and RCMP are on scene.
It is unknown if there are any injuries.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
