Drivers reminded to treat intersections as four-way stops as strong winds knock out power

Strong winds across the Treasure Valley are knocking out power and leaving some traffic lights completely dark.
Police and highway officials remind drivers that those intersections do not become free-for-alls. If you come up to a traffic light that is out or flashing red, treat it like a four-way stop. That means every driver comes to a complete stop before entering the intersection. The first vehicle to arrive goes first.
Officials also say to slow down, watch for pedestrians and never assume other drivers will stop.
