Houston Astros Carry Four-Game Win Streak Into Rangers Series With Momentum on Their Side

The Houston Astros have found themselves on a winning streak for the first time since their season-opening homestand.
The Astros have now won four games in a row, including a full sweep against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, something they had not accomplished since 2011.

For a team that has been struggling to stay above water and dealing with a relentless injury bug, things are starting to go right for the Astros.
With multiple players on the IL, including veterans like Carlos Correa, who is out for the season, and José Altuve, the Astros have not allowed injuries to derail their recent stretch of success.
Whether this is a matter of growing pains finally wearing off or chemistry starting to click, something has clearly shifted.

The Astros are in a position to not only take two series in a row but also potentially record two consecutive sweeps, first against Chicago and now against the Texas Rangers.
They already won two out of three against the Rangers a few weeks ago, so they know they can get it done against this team. Now that they are hot and on a roll, a full sweep is well within reach.
They head into the second game of the series after a 9-0 combined no-hitter in the opener. Jason Alexander will take the mound tonight. He delivered an excellent outing against the Twins in his last start and will look to build on that. Here is a look at his most recent performance, per MLB:

Alexander is sitting at a 7.30 ERA on the season, but his last outing against the Twins was a different story. If he can replicate that performance tonight, the Astros have a real shot at extending the winning streak.
