The University of North Carolina men’s basketball team will play home-and-away games in 2026-27 against Duke and Louisville, the ACC announced on Thursday.
Carolina will play seven ACC opponents only in Chapel Hill and another seven only on the road. The Tar Heels are not scheduled to play Clemson in the regular season.
The seven ACC teams scheduled to play the Tar Heels only in Chapel Hill include Cal, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, SMU, Stanford and Virginia.
Carolina will play Boston College, Florida State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest only on the road in the upcoming season.
This season will mark the first time the Tar Heels are not scheduled to play Clemson in the regular season since 1950-51 and the first time UNC will not play at NC State since 1947. The game at NC State scheduled for February 26, 1947, at Thompson Gym was canceled minutes before the opening tip by the fire marshal due to too many fans in the gym.
