Svitolina sets all-Ukrainian quarterfinal

The 31-year-old’s win followed Kostyuk’s earlier upset of four-time winner Iga Swiatek and put her within reach of completing the career set of Grand Slam semifinals.

Having barely scraped past Anna Bondar in a match tiebreak in the opening round, Svitolina has looked more assured in subsequent rounds with her fifth win in seven meetings against the Swiss booking her a sixth Roland-Garros quarterfinal.
