Jessica Shannon and Wife Shyann McCant Break Up 2 Weeks After Wedding Was Shown on “Mama June: From Not to Hot”

Jessica Shannon has split from her wife.

In a statement posted on Tuesday, June 2, the 29-year-old confirmed she and her wife, Shyann McCant, “are no longer together.”

“We mutually decided that it was the best decision for both of us,” Shannon wrote.

The split comes less than three weeks after footage of their wedding aired on Mama June: From Not to Hot. During the season 8 finale, which aired May 15, Jessica married McCant, and Josh Efrid, the ex-husband of Jessica’s sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon was the officiant.

In her statement, Jessica said she and McCant are “still friends” and “are both cordial with each other, but we are no longer in a relationship.”

“We kindly ask that everyone be respectful during this time,” Jessica’s statement continued. “Please don’t send hate or negativity to either of us.”

“This is already a difficult situation, and mean comments or unnecessary drama won’t make it any easier.”

Jessica and McCant started dating in July 2022. In an Instagram post celebrating their first anniversary, Jessica wrote, “I couldn’t imagine life any other way right now and I can’t wait to see what the future hold ’cause baby your [sic] stuck with me forever !! I love you baby girl.”

They announced their engagement in September 2024, after two years of dating.

Less than 10 days before announcing the split, Jessica shared a photo of her and McCant wearing matching pajamas on Instagram. “I think we should get matching onesies baby,” she wrote in the caption.

TMZ was first to report news of the breakup, citing sources who said they hadn’t filed for divorce yet but plan to begin that process soon.
