Lea Salonga, Andrew Rannells, Alex Newell, More Will Appear at Broadway Fan Convention in Las Vegas
A star-studded Broadway fan convention is coming to Las Vegas later this month, with numerous Tony-winning performers and creatives set for onstage appearances. Creation Entertainment’s A Salute to Broadway will be hosted at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort June 27-28.
The weekend will feature performances in the hotel’s theatre, as well as meet-and-greet opportunities for photo and autographs, a cosplay competition, a Broadway trivia competition with cash and prizes to win, and a Marie’s Crisis pop-up piano bar offering evening sing-alongs. The convention is co-hosted by Michelle Dowdy (Hairspray) and pianists Brandon James Gwinn and Drew Wutke.
The convention will include appearances by Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon), Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago, Cheers), Jennifer Holliday (Dreamgirls), Jordan Fisher (Hadestown), Ana Gasteyer (Schmigadoon!, SNL), Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, Smash), Michael Cerveris (Fun Home), Alex Newell (Shucked, Glee), Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill), Skylar Astin (Spring Awakening), Lindsay Mendez (Merrily We Roll Along), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Adam Pascal (Rent), Gabrielle Ruiz (In the Heights, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Ali Stroker (Oklahoma!), Santino Fontana (Tootsie), Rick Lyon (Avenue Q), and Seth Rudetsky (Sirius/XM).
June 27 will feature One-Night-Only, a special evening concert featuring performances by Salonga, Rannells, Gasteyer, Astin, Fisher, Mendez, Shaiman, Fontana, Newell, Cerveris, Gooding, Ruiz, Stroker, and Lyon—all accompanied by an 11-piece orchestra led by music supervisor Wutke.
