Here’s What Time ‘Fortnite’ Chapter 7 Season 3 Servers Go Live After Downtime

Fortnite is about to end another season and head into a new one, Chapter 7, Season 3. And while this isn’t always the case, there is a live “changeover” event this time that players won’t want to miss. After that, servers go down and players can log into Season 3 in the morning.

The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 “Runners” launch should be in the following time windows per region:

  • 4 AM-7 AM PT
  • 7 AM-10 AM ET
  • 11 AM-2 PM GMT
  • 12 PM-3PM CET
  • 3 PM-6PM GST
  • 7 PM-10 PM CST
  • 9 PM -11 PM JST

The new season will launch in the morning on Saturday, June 6, at least for the Americas. Downtime ranges, but it’s generally pretty early and will probably be live by the time most wake up.

The “faction” based live event requires players to choose between the Foundation and Ice King teams, and how you experience the event will change based on that. The event will mess up the map as per usual, but if you showed up to it at all will give out some free rewards, though one comes with a caveat. The rewards for participating a Chaos Cutlass mining tool and a Bark Voyager sidekick. The catch is that to get Bark Voyager, clearly the better prize, you will have to join the event with a friend. Hope you managed that!

Past that, Epic has already been previewing its battle pass full of colorful characters, one of which has proven…somewhat controversial, due to her surprising outfit. Much of the rest of the season is under wraps, but we’ve seen upcoming collab skins like pen-and-ink John Wick (he’s in the battle pass), Control: Resonant characters and old-school animated He-Man skins ahead of that movie’s release this weekend.

Fortnite has been in a somewhat questionable place as of late, with player-lambasted decisions like raising store prices. Epic has given very blunt explanations for this, such as ”The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot, and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills.” Epic also laid off 1,000 employees in March 2026 and had this to say:

“Today we’re laying off over 1000 Epic employees. I’m sorry we’re here again. The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025 means we’re spending significantly more than we’re making, and we have to make major cuts to keep the company funded. This layoff, together with over $500 million of identified cost savings in contracting, marketing, and closing some open roles puts us in a more stable place.”

The pace of content has not slowed, but it’s clear Fortnite needs to make some moves to return to the big earner it once was. We’ll see if Chapter 7, Season 2 will help do that.
