American Airlines suspends routes at Charlotte airport over rising jet fuel costs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – American Airlines is suspending some routes at Charlotte Douglas International Airport over rising jet fuel costs.
CBS News reported that the routes — listed below — are being “temporarily cut” at Charlotte airport in August and September.
- Charlotte to Ontario
- Charlotte to Sacramento
An American Airlines spokesperson told WBTV the changes are a response to the ongoing war in Iran, which is driving up fuel costs.
“American is not suspending any routes indefinitely as part of this adjustment,” the spokesperson said in a statement to CBS News.
