Celtic ‘club signing’ set for transfer exit after just one senior appearance

The Japanese defender made only one first-team appearance before being loaned out in January.

Inamura, 24, joined Celtic from Albirex Niigata for around £250,000 but struggled to make an impact in Glasgow. He left for FC Tokyo six months after signing a four-year contract.

According to Japanese reports, Celtic have now struck an agreement with Tokyo to make the move permanent in a deal worth around £1.3 million.

Despite his limited first-team involvement, the club is set to make a significant profit on the defender.

Inamura, who previously expressed his frustration over the lack of opportunities at Parkhead, said: “I didn’t expect it to be so tough to get opportunities.

“I just want to play regularly and show what I can do.”
