Hurricanes Won’t Stick With Game 2 Line Swaps Says Brind’Amour

The Carolina Hurricanes are going to more than likely go back to their normal lines for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final according to coach Rod Brind’Amour.
The Hurricanes made a minor adjustment midway through Game 2, swapping Seth Jarvis and Jordan Martinook, and those were the same combinations when the team rallied for the eventual overtime win.

“I don’t know what it is exactly, but it just gives you a different look and a little mental reset for everyone, I guess, when you shuffle the lines,” said Sebastian Aho on Saturday. “I thought it helped us a bit last game. Jordo’s line was going and everyone was kind of going as we rolled all four lines.”
However, Brind’Amour said pregame on Saturday that he doesn’t anticipate sticking with that change.
“Yeah maybe, but probably not,” Brind’Amour said when asked if he was going to stick with the changes. “If we have to, we have to. That was just a minor switch there.”

The Hurricanes have rolled almost the exact same lines throughout the postseason, with just minor swaps in the middle of one or two games.
They’ve trusted their guys to get the job done and that looks to be the case for Game 3.
“Whatever the lines are going to be, we just need to figure out how to do the best we can with what we have,” Aho said.
