Christian Eriksen collapses on pitch during Ukraine-friendly but is in good health

Denmarks friendly against Ukraine was called off after 65 minutes when Christian Eriksen collapsed in a situation reminiscent of when the Danish international suffered a cardiac arrest in Denmarks game against Finland at the EURO in 2001.

Denmark’s friendly match against Ukraine was interrupted in the second half after 65 minutes because Christian Eriksen collapsed. Help was quickly on hand, and players from both the Danish and Ukrainian teams surrounded him.

After about five minutes, it was reported that the Wolfsburg player was conscious, and later he got on his feet again and was escorted off the pitch by his wife, Sabrina, and to the ambulance, while a number of the players on the pitch were crying and were very emotionally affected.

All Danish and Ukrainian players gathered in a circle after the referee had called off the game, and the players were loudly applauded by the spectators.

The Danish FA has reported on X that Christian Eriksen is conscious and doing well, judging by the circumstances.
