Who is Jacob Parker? Mississippi State baseball star freshman with twin JoJo in minors

Mississippi State baseball has one of the top freshmen in the country in Jacob Parker.
The outfielder from Purvis is having a breakout season ever since he became an everyday starter in March. He’s one of Baseball America’s five finalists for national freshman of the year.
Parker also won the Most Outstanding Player in the Starkville Regional, and bats cleanup for the No. 14 Bulldogs (43-18), who are playing at No. 3 Georgia (50-12) in the Athens Super Regional.
Here’s what to know about Parker, along with his star twin brother.
Jacob Parker stats
Parker is batting .340 with 16 home runs, 59 RBIs and 49 runs. He ranks second on MSU in home runs and RBIs despite playing in only 52 games with 43 starts. His 1.162 OPS and .710 slugging percentage are best on the team.
Jacob Parker brother
Parker has a twin brother named JoJo, who is also a baseball star.
JoJo was the No. 8 pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 MLB Draft. He’s been playing for the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays this season.
The two of them were the co-Mr. Baseball winners in the MHSAA Class 4A in their senior seasons at Purvis.
JoJo was committed to Mississippi State, too, but signed with the Blue Jays after the draft.
Jacob Parker MLB draft ranking
Jacob was ranked as the No. 109 draft prospect in 2025 by MLB.com, while JoJo was ranked No. 9. Jacob was picked by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 19th round but did not sign.
Jacob is not eligible for the MLB draft again until 2028 after his junior season.
Jacob Parker hometown
The Parkers are from Purvis, which is near Hattiesburg.

Jacob has had many big hits for Mississippi State throughout his freshman season, but the one that stands out the most was his game-tying grand slam against LSU on April 25. MSU went on to win the game, 9-8, in front of its largest crowd of the season.
