With heightened travel expected in the host cities of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, travelers will want to know their way around.

Boston, Massachusetts, is one of 16 cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico hosting matches in the international soccer tournament from June 12 to July 19. Seven matches will take place at Boston Stadium, also known as Gillette Stadium, from June 13 to July 9.

In Boston, roads and subways may face disruptions or be busier than usual. The city government has already announced where the planned delays will take place and how much transport will cost, and we’ve rounded up the information for you.

How to get to Gillette Stadium

Using public transportation to get to Gillette Stadium is encouraged, and the only way to get there by train is on the MBTA Boston Stadium Train service.

The Boston Stadium Train picks up at South Station in Boston and drops off at Foxboro Station, which is next to the stadium. For each match, 14 trains will run express, and the ride is about one hour.

To ride the Boston Stadium Train, fans must purchase a ticket ahead of time. Round-trip tickets are $80, and the date on the World Cup ticket must match the Boston Stadium Train ticket. The tickets can’t be refunded, and all passengers, even children under 11, must have a ticket.

Tickets are on sale now in the mTicket mobile app. They are sold in five groups, each boarding at different times.

Train tickets for Round of 32 and Quarterfinal matches will go on sale closer to the match dates, the MBTA said.

Is there parking at Gillette Stadium for the World Cup?

There is parking at Gillette Stadium, but it is very limited. There are 5,000 parking spots available for pre-sale at $175. Parking must be purchased ahead of time.

Parking lots open at least four hours prior to kick off. Accessible parking is also available for pre-purchase.

Fans can purchase a parking pass on the justpark.com website.

Is there a shuttle to Gillette Stadium for the World Cup?

There is a direct bus service to Boston Stadium for the World Cup, called the Boston Stadium Express. It features pick-up locations at hotels across Boston.

Tickets for Boston Stadium Express are $95 round-trip and must be booked in advance. The bus service will start 3 to 4.5 hours before kickoff.

Will Gillette Stadium have a rideshare drop-off for the World Cup?

Boston Stadium will have a rideshare pick-up and drop-off for the World Cup. The dedicated area is located at lot 16.

There is also a Rideshare App Shuttle Service that fans can reserve ahead of time. Riders can reserve up to five seats in advance for services to downtown Boston and Providence. Tickets are $45 per person and must be reserved through the app.

The destinations include Downtown Boston (Back Bay near the Prudential Center) and Downtown Providence (Smith and Francis St. near the Rhode Island State House).
