Morgan Wallen Is Apparently Not a Weatherman

Morgan Wallen, he of the rapid SNL exit and chair-tossing fame, is now taking some heat over his abruptly scrapped Pittsburgh show on Saturday. The country star said on Instagram he pulled the plug on his Still the Problem tour stop at Acrisure Stadium after talks with local officials and his team about “severe” weather expected through the night, reports People. “Safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority. Refunds available at point of purchase,” he wrote. The rub for some is that while TribLive reported scattered thunderstorms in the area, the worst of the weather stayed south of Pittsburgh.
In a follow-up video, Wallen said he was advised earlier in the day to cancel because of forecasts for strong winds, noting his large stage setup “could become fatal” in those conditions. He acknowledged that rough weather hadn’t yet hit Pittsburgh at showtime but said, “That was the information I had in the moment.” Wallen also dismissed what he described as “a lot of nonsense” circulating about his motives, saying his “true fans know that’s not how I operate.” The cancellation comes days after Wallen made headlines for flipping a malfunctioning piano onstage during a Denver show, reports WSMV, an incident he later joked about on TikTok.
