Manchester United are interested in signing Mateus Fernandes this summer – but have no intention of meeting West Ham United’s current asking price.
That’s according to The Athletic, who are reporting that Fernandes is high among the names being considered in midfield and United have held talks regarding fee and wages.
However, West Ham, despite their relegation to the Championship, are demanding £80m for the midfielder this summer.
But the report claims that there is an expectation that, over time, that fee should fall, but Paris Saint-Germain also holds an interest in Fernandes.
