Gary Lineker revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo stopped speaking to him after he said that he thinks Lionel Messi is the better footballer.
Appearing on The Louis Theroux Podcast on Tuesday (9 June), the former Match of The Day host opened up on his relationship with the Portugal legend as he heaped praise on Messi.
“I always feel bad because people have a go at me saying, ‘Oh, you don’t like Ronaldo’. It’s not that I don’t like Ronaldo. I think he’s an absolutely incredible footballer. But there’s no argument about who is the better footballer.”
He said that both Ronaldo and his fans have not reacted well to Lineker’s opinion, with the 65-year-old being informed that Ronaldo “doesn’t like him anymore”.
