Team Canada will play its first-ever FIFA World Cup game on home turf Friday, but hundreds of tickets for the historic moment still haven’t been purchased.
The tournament, which is being co-hosted by Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, kicks off Thursday and Canada’s first match at Toronto Stadium against Bosnia and Herzegovina is set for 3 p.m. tomorrow.
But FIFA’s own website shows that at least 450 tickets are still unsold for the high-profile event as of 10 a.m.
Tickets left unsold span all three of the game’s sale categories, including 20 tickets on offer for $1,370, another 148 for $2,300, and 253 for $3,135.
More than two dozen premium front-row tickets are also up for grabs, with prices listed as high as $4,705.
Some tickets are also still available on FIFA’s resale platform. Prices for those tickets range from $920 to $4,809.
It’s unclear why so many tickets haven’t sold, but some soccer fans who spoke to CTV News earlier this month said the prices for the event were prohibitively expensive.
