Olivia Rodrigo Reveals New Duet with The Cure’s Robert Smith, “what’s wrong with me”: Stream

Olivia Rodrigo has revealed her third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. Along with it comes the official release of “what’s wrong with me,” a duet recorded with The Cure’s Robert Smith.

With a warmer, moodier palette, “what’s wrong with me” finds Rodrigo lamenting her relationship’s effect on her mental health, even though she’s physically fine; at the end of the first chorus, she comes to the conclusion, “I can’t eat, I can’t sleep/
I think you’re what’s wrong with me.”

Though she says she’s “in love,” she can’t seem to get out of bed and feels that there’s a weight on her chest, with the song eventually functioning as a sobering realization that her relationship might be the root of her depression. Smith enters the song at the second verse, echoing Rodrigo’s point of view: “Head just keeps on pounding with/ The simple thought/ What if this isn’t what I want?” They join in harmony in the final chorus, adding a touching conclusion to a rather sad song.
