LIVE: George Russell bites back in Barcelona as Kimi Antonelli misses FP1

Round 7 of the 2026 F1 season brings a new grand prix into the calendar.

For the first time, F1 is hosting the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix after the Barcelona circuit lost the official Spanish GP moniker to the new Madring, due to debut in September.

The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix joins on a rotational deal with the Belgian GP at Spa, with the Spanish venue to host in even-numbered years, up to and including 2032.

Kimi Antonelli heads to Barcelona looking for a sixth straight grand prix win following his success last time out in Monaco – with a monster 66-point lead over Lewis Hamilton in the standings.

Can George Russell strike back against his Mercedes team-mate, or will Antonelli further tighten his grip on the championship?

We will get our first clues during the first 60 minutes of practice, which you can follow live below, with our dedicated live blog also featuring live timing – especially helpful as a number of FP1 rookie drivers are taking part in the session, with Antonelli, Hamilton, and Lando Norris among those to step out.
