David Beckham fans in hysterics as wife tries to upstage him during Hollywood Walk of Fame honor

David Beckham’s fans were left cringing for the global soccer star after his wife Victoria Beckham appeared to try to “upstage” him as he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On Friday, June 12, the 51-year-old footballer received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a star-studded ceremony that featured his wife, Victoria Beckham, and actor Tom Cruise serving as guest speakers.
Cruise, a fellow Walk of Famer, spoke first, highlighting David’s career as one of the most accomplished soccer players of his generation. Victoria then began her speech, joking that she thought she was receiving her star for her part in the “iconic cult classic” Spice World: The Movie.
Victoria came under fire from fans on X after a clip of her posing alongside David and Tom surfaced, with some accusing her of trying to steal the limelight. One wrote, “Look at his far she’s standing away from her husband; always trying to make it about her.”
A second scathed, “Why can’t she stand normally? Looks ridiculous.” A third said, “I can’t pass Victoria Beckham’s pose. Like, relax for a change.”

A fourth quipped, “Victoria Beckham is anything but natural… Just a bit uptight.” A fifth shared, “The Victoria show in full swing. Cringe. Feel sorry for him.”
During his speech, Tom paid tribute to David, saying, “Long before the trophies, the sold-out stadiums, the global fame, the recognition, there was a young boy with a dream. And the determination and discipline to earn everything that followed.
“That’s why this feels like such a fitting place for us to celebrate him. His is a Hollywood story. A boy who believed in something bigger than himself had to work for every opportunity he received and went on to influence his sport, shape culture around the world, and create opportunities for generations who followed.

“And for all the records, achievements, and recognition, the thing that has impressed me most is that success has never changed who he is. The same core values that got him there are the ones he lives by today.”
Commending Victoria and the “beautiful family” the couple has raised. He said, “You earned this, and nobody — and I mean nobody — deserves it more, my friend.”
Taking to the podium for her speech, Victoria said, “Growing up in England, the Hollywood Walk of Fame was one of those iconic things that you only saw in films — a way of immortalizing people who had succeeded in their fields and truly left their mark.”

She then quipped, “So naturally, I assumed I was coming here today to receive my star for my part in that iconic cult classic Spice World: The Movie.” The singer went on to praise her husband’s “vision,” “determination,” and “extraordinary amount of hard work.”
“Most of you will know David as a sportsman, a businessman, and an activist, but behind those titles is a man who has always been defined by his character. His drive, his determination, and his ambition are known to everyone, but I’d also like to acknowledge his kindness, his loyalty, and his commitment to the people that he loves,” the fashion designer gushed.
David and Victoria’s children — sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, as well as daughter Harper, 14 — were also in attendance at the ceremony on Friday. Meanwhile, their estranged son, 27-year-old Brooklyn, and daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, 31, did not appear at the event in Los Angeles even though they live 20 minutes away.
