New York Knicks star Jeremy Lin is setting the record straight on rumors he dated Kim Kardashian during the height of his fame in 2012—and it sounds like the Skims founder wasn’t immune to the effects of the “Linsanity” era. In a new interview on June 9, Lin revealed that the Skims founder allegedly reached out to request a meeting after taking note of his athletic prowess on the court.

While making an appearance on the “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast, the former Knicks player said that Kardashian apparently contacted the New York Knicks leadership about him sometime during his 2011–2012 NBA season.
“The request did come in to the Knicks, and that is a real request,” the 37 year old shared. “I think basically, she at that time was filming her show—I don’t know if it’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians or whatever show was happening back then—but I know that she was looking for a New York athlete to be on this show, essentially.”

While Lin might have caught Kardashian’s eye, the basketball player said he wasn’t notified about the apparent interest until after the team had already declined a potential TV cameo. “The request came into the Knicks and they immediately declined it without even asking us,” he added. “They were like, ‘We’re not allowing our young second-year player to go down this route right now.'”
Lin said he only learned about the alleged request after the fact and hadn’t verified the information, explaining, “This is what was told to me afterward.”

Kardashian has not responded to Lin’s comments. However, The Kardashians star and the global sports phenomenon sparked significant dating buzz back in 2012, even prompting ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols to ask Lin about a potential romantic connection point-blank.
“You don’t think you’re the Kim Kardashian type?” she asked him, to which Lin responded, “No, I don’t think I’m that type.” It sounds like a romance wasn’t meant to be, as the All’s Fair actress is currently dating Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton. Meanwhile, Lin revealed he secretly got married in a Facebook post a few years ago. One year later, he shared that he and his wife welcomed a child in August 2024.
