Undefeated heavyweight contender accuses Tom Aspinall of stalling division

Undefeated heavyweight contender Josh Hokit said Tom Aspinall should be stripped of his UFC title, arguing the division is stalled. In remarks to UFC on Paramount Plus, Hokit criticized Tom Aspinall’s status as UFC heavyweight titleholder and questioned the champion’s readiness. He said Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira ought to fight for the undisputed belt rather than an interim heavyweight title. Aspinall has not fought since his title defense against Gane ended in a no-contest due to a double eye poke at UFC 320 last October. Gane faces Pereira for an interim belt at UFC White House: Freedom 250 on June 14. Hokit, set to face Derrick Lewis, also showed interest in Pereira and cited Aspinall’s reported eye injury.
