Nikkei 225 soars on US-Iran peace deal, oil prices tumble

The Tokyo Stock Exchange’s Nikkei 225 index rose to an all-time high above 69,000 points on Monday as investors reacted to the news of the long-awaited peace deal between the United States and Iran.
The benchmark surged more than 3,600 points, or 5.5 percent, at one point in the morning session.
Meanwhile, crude oil prices tumbled after US President Donald Trump’s announcement of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Benchmark WTI futures traded in New York fell to the 80-dollar per barrel range at one point, a drop of about 5 percent from last week.
