Inside Soccer Star Lionel Messi’s $300 Million Global Real Estate Empire

This week, Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi kicks off his sixth FIFA World Cup competition—just four years after leading his home country’s team to the 2022 FIFA Trophy. The 38-year-old soccer player has had an illustrious career over two decades and, with it, he’s built an expansive real estate portfolio that spans three continents. From Ibiza to Miami, here’s where you might find Messi when he’s not on the pitch.
Castelldefels Home Base
Messi started his soccer career in Spain, joining the FC Barcelona team in 2004. After about five years with the football club, the native Argentinian decided to put down roots in the European country in 2009, purchasing a $2 million property in the coastal city of Castelldefels. He later bought the neighboring house to create a veritable compound that Robb Report values at about $7 million. Located in the affluent Bellamar neighborhood, the property includes a gym, spa, home theater, swimming pool, a backyard soccer field, and even a jersey room full of dozens of framed shirts.

Miami Beachfront Luxury Condo
Messi signed with Inter Miami football club in 2023, effectively making Florida his new home base—though he had started laying the groundwork for his new residence long before that. In November 2019, the Argentinian snagged a $5 million condo in the Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach.
Designed by Sieger Suarez Architects and branded by Porsche Design (the lifestyle brand of the Porsche car company), the luxury oceanfront building is famous for its Dezervator car elevator system, which allows residents to drive their cars into a glass-enclosed lift that whisks them up to their desired floor. The Real Deal reported that Messi was attracted to the development because of its privacy and “his ability to get in and out of the unit without being seen.” Located on the tower’s north side, the 3,555-square-foot condo features three bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and clear views of the ocean.

Regalia Building
In April 2021, Messi dropped $7.3 million on the entire ninth floor of the Regalia building, per a report from The New York Post. Located in Sunny Isles Beach—not too far from his condo in the Porsche Design Tower—the residence features four bedrooms and six bathrooms. There are plenty of amenities in the Arquitectonica-designed structure, including six pools, a spa, cabanas, a fitness center, a yoga studio, a chef’s kitchen, and a champagne bar and wine cellar.
Trump Royale
The same year that he purchased the Regalia condo, Messi also acquired a few investment properties in the Trump Royale, also on Sunny Isles Beach. A report from Miami Luxury Homes estimated the soccer player spent about $1.8 million on the spaces, though they likely aren’t among his full-time residences.

Argentinian Estate
Messi bought an estate in his home country of Argentina in 2022. He was at the height of his career, having just won the FIFA World Cup for his country, and decided to return to his hometown of Rosario, in central Argentina, by beginning construction on what many have dubbed “the Fortress.” According to Robb Report, the soccer player spent about $4 million on the estate—creating a compound with 20 to 25 rooms, a cinema, a gym, and an underground garage with a 15-car capacity.
Ibiza Mansion
Also in 2022, the soccer player bought a mansion in Ibiza. According to The Sun, he spent roughly $12.8 million for the residence before it was revealed the property had “planning problems” due to rooms that had been added to the garage prior to Messi’s purchase. As such, the home didn’t have a certificate of occupancy. Still, that didn’t stop Messi and his wife from spending their summer at the 20,000-square-foot property—which features a pool almost the same length as the house itself.
Fort Lauderdale Waterfront Property
In September 2023, just a few months after he officially inked a contract with the Inter Miami soccer team, Messi dropped $10.8 million on a fourth Florida home. Unlike his previous three Florida residences, this home wasn’t a luxury condo in the Miami area, but rather a mansion in Fort Lauderdale. The Real Deal reported at the time of the purchase that the home featured 70 feet of water frontage, a waterfront pool, and a gym and spa room. It’s also located just about five miles away from the Inter Miami training facilities.
Cipriani Residences Miami Condos
Just last year, Messi bought several investment properties in the Cipriani Residences building in Miami, per to The Wall Street Journal. Messi purchased a handful of units in the condominium, including one priced reportedly around $7.5 million. These condos joined Messi’s other investment properties at the Trump Royale.
