What’s closed Friday in the Bay Area for the Juneteenth holiday

The federal Juneteenth holiday will be marked on Friday, June 19, this year.

• Most federal offices and services will be closed.

• Banks will be closed, though automated teller machines will remain operational.

• The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed.

• U.S. post offices will be closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery.

In California, Juneteenth is not a paid holiday for state employees. Some workers can take the day off in lieu of a personal holiday, but state offices will remain open.

In the Bay Area, there are many local closures Friday, including all non-emergency services at the county level and in most cities, including Oakland, San Jose and San Francisco.

Caltrain and BART will operate on their normal weekday schedules.

Most stores and other businesses will remain open.
