Meanwhile, Croatia won seven of their eight matches with Czechia the only team to stop them winning (0-0 in Prague).
- Luka Modric is the fourth European player to play in five different World Cup tournaments (2006, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026), along with Cristiano Ronaldo (6), Lothar Matthäus (5) and Manuel Neuer (5).
- Modric also becomes just the second European player to make an appearance at 10 different major tournaments (World Cups and Euros), along with Cristiano Ronaldo (12). He’s played at all but one World Cup/Euro tournament since 2006, with Croatia failing to quality for the 2010 World Cup.
- Today is Jude Bellingham‘s 16th major tournament appearance (World Cups and Euros), the most of any European player in history before turning 23.
- Bellingham also becomes the youngest European player in history to make an appearance at four different major tournaments (World Cups and Euros), aged 22 years and 353 days.
- Harry Kane is today making his 115th England appearance. He overtakes Steven Gerrard (114) and levels David Beckham into joint-third all-time for the Three Lions, now only behind Peter Shilton (125) and Wayne Rooney (120).
