Key Brazil player emerges as major injury doubt vs Scotland after being forced off

Key Brazil player Raphinha has emerged as an injury doubt to feature against Scotland.
The winger was forced off in the first half of Brazil vs Haiti in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Barcelona forward Raphinha was unable to continue and had to be withdrawn after just 40 minutes in the Group C tie. He was replaced by Bournemouth’s Rayan.

As it stands, Scotland will head into the match in third place in Group C on three points, after their win against Haiti was followed by a 1-0 loss to Morocco.
Scotland would need to take something from the match in order to give themselves an overwhelmingly likely chance of progressing into the knockout rounds.

A win would see Scotland progress, with a draw giving Steve Clarke’s side a high likelihood of moving on.
However, even a narrow defeat could be enough for Scotland to advance as one of the best third-place runners-up.
Eight of the 12 third-place sides will progress out of the group stage, meaning Scotland must better four other third-place sides if they are to advance through that avenue.
