The price to watch the USMNT’s Round of 32 match is already staggering

The United States of America Men’s National Team is on to the Round of 32 at the World Cup.

With one game left in their group stage phase, the USMNT have already locked up the top spot in Group D and will have over a week before their next game that matters. The final game of Group D against Turkiye is set up as a glorified exhibition game, as the European side is already eliminated and the USMNT will look to rest players before the do-or-die knockout rounds begin.

Since the U.S. capitalized on their opportunity to win the group with a game left to play, it means that the date and venue for their upcoming Round of 32 game is already decided: July 1st in the Bay Area, playing at the home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.

Two weeks ago, tickets were dropping across the board for the World Cup, with the get-in price for the Americans opening their campaign against Paraguay in Los Angeles falling below $1,000.

But following the team’s 4-1 destruction of Paraguay and the excitement around the tournament picking up across the country, the cheapest ticket to see them play Australia in Seattle on Friday was over $2,000.

Now that they’ve won two World Cup games in a row for the first time in nearly a century, how much will it take to see them play in the Bay Area for their Round of 32 match?

Per SeatGeek, the cheapest ticket for the USMNT in their first knockout round match is a little under $4,000 with the chance of it rising over the next week as anticipation continues to grow.

Who will the USMNT play in Northern California?

If there is a winner between Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina in their final Group B contest, that nation will play against the U.S. in the Round of 32. If the game ends in a draw, which would eliminate both teams, then it becomes a lot more difficult to pin down, as it could be anyone from Ecuador to Algeria depending on results.
