Jordan Peterson Reveals Heartbreaking Health Battle as He Admits He Can No Longer Lecture or Podcast

Jordan Peterson has shared a sobering update with fans, revealing that ongoing health struggles have left him unable to return to the public life that made him one of the world’s most influential commentators.
The 64-year-old psychologist, bestselling author, and podcast host broke his silence this week, admitting that his health remains so fragile that he cannot resume podcasting or public lectures for the foreseeable future.
In a message posted to supporters, Peterson announced that he will instead begin releasing previously unreleased lectures from his extensive archive, giving fans access to content recorded before his latest health setback.
“This allows me to do something interesting and useful while I’m otherwise incapacitated,” Peterson said. “My health is such at the moment that I can’t really return to podcasting or public lecturing.”
The update comes after months of concern surrounding Peterson’s condition. Earlier this year, his daughter, Mikhaila Fuller, revealed that her father had endured what she described as a devastating neurological health crisis. According to Fuller, Peterson suffered a recurrence of akathisia, a rare and intensely distressing neurological disorder that had previously disrupted his life.
The family’s ordeal reportedly became even more serious when Peterson also battled pneumonia and sepsis during the same period. Fuller later described the previous year as “hell” for those closest to him.
Despite the challenges, Peterson appears determined to remain connected to his audience. The upcoming weekly lecture releases will feature material from his past tours and classroom-style presentations, the format that originally helped launch him to global prominence through YouTube.
Fans have long followed Peterson for his discussions on psychology, culture, mythology, personal responsibility, and faith. While he has never formally identified as a Christian, his growing engagement with religious themes has attracted significant attention in recent years. His wife Tammy entered the Catholic Church in 2023, while his daughter has publicly spoken about her own Christian faith.
For now, Peterson says his focus remains on recovery, though his latest comments suggest a full return to the stage may still be some distance away.
For supporters who have wondered when the professor’s familiar voice might return to podcasts and packed lecture halls, the answer appears uncertain. But through his archive, Peterson is making sure the conversation continues-even while his battle for health remains ongoing.
