Olivia Rodrigo announces Daisy Chain Fields festival at Irvine’s Great Park – Orange County Register

Olivia Rodrigo is bringing a new music festival to Irvine this summer, assembling a female-led lineup that includes Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, Stevie Nicks and more for a one-day event aimed at supporting organizations that advocate for women and girls.

The Grammy Award-winning artist announced that Daisy Chain Fields will debut Aug. 29 at Great Park in Irvine. Net proceeds from the festival will benefit nonprofit organizations focused on advancing women and girls, according to organizers.

Rodrigo will headline the festival alongside performances by Bikini Kill, Die Spitz, Eli, Garbage, Katseye, Mitski, Not For Radio, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold and the Breeders. Special guests Karen O, Sarah McLachlan and Stevie Nicks are also scheduled to appear.

“Olivia had expressed interest in the Great Park, and we did a site walk with her in 2025, and she was impressed by the Great Park,” city of Irvine spokesperson Melissa Haley said, adding that since then, it’s been a close, collaborative process between the city, Great Park Live and C3 Presents, an event promotion and production company headquartered in Austin, Texas.

The one-day festival is expected to draw about 40,000 attendees, according to Haley.

She also noted that C3 Presents is leasing the Great Park for the event and will oversee many of the festival’s operational elements. C3 Presents is “renting the Great Park out as a reservation,” Haley said, and per their contract with the city, “they’re responsible for fees, load in, load out, AV, use of Great Park Live, those types of things.”

The festival will use two performance areas: the existing Great Park Live venue and a temporary Dandelion Stage to be built atop soccer fields 14-17, Haley said.

Transportation and parking plans are still being finalized, though city officials say off-site parking and shuttle options will be available for attendees.

“There’s going to be off-site parking and shuttles into the park. We don’t have those locations yet,” Haley shared, adding that details were still being finalized. “We’re going to encourage folks to ride the train as well, and there will be parking in the park, but I don’t know how they’re going to set that up yet.”

The city is also developing a “dash pass” program intended to help nearby residents access their neighborhoods during the event.

“Daisy Chain Fields is a music festival founded on the belief that joy, community, and creativity can inspire meaningful change. It affirms that music and collective experience can serve as enduring drivers of progress and social change. It’s a place where inspiration and curiosity lead to knowledge, strength, and action,” Rodrigo shared in a statement. “The festival celebrates the voices, artistry, and contributions of women in music, fostering an inclusive environment in which all are welcome. Daisy Chain offers more than live performances; it provides opportunities for education, dialogue, and engagement around issues affecting women and girls in the United States and globally.”

Beyond live music, the festival will feature nonprofit activations, educational resources, community art experiences, local vendors, fan pop-ups and immersive installations. Organizers said attendees will have opportunities to connect with organizations working in areas including reproductive rights, maternal health, economic empowerment, domestic violence prevention and gender equity.

Among the nonprofit partners announced are Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood.

Tickets will be available through a presale beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24. Fans can sign up for presale access through a passcode via SMS or email at daisychainfields.com.
