International travel is a complicated business and flights are subject to all sorts of pressures.

Simple things like headwinds over the course of a six hour flight can easily add half an hour to a journey time, then you can add in things like adverse weather conditions, strike action from air traffic controllers across the continent, issues posed by airspace restrictions over conflict zones, passenger behaviour and more.

Passengers due to travel are advised to check the status of their flights directly with their airline before heading to the airport, as schedules can change at short notice.
