Snitker won’t return as Braves manager

Brian Snitker’s time as Atlanta Braves manager is over.

The team announced Wednesday that the 69-year-old Snitker will transition into an advisory capacity with the club.

Snitker led the team to a World Series triumph in 2021.

A native of Decatur, IL, Snitker joined the Braves organization in 1980, serving in a number of capacities over the years. From 2007 to 2013 her served as the Braves’ third-base coach before become the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves manager for the 2014 season.

Upon the firing of Fredi Gonzalez in 2016, Snitker became the team’s interim manager before being given the full-time job ahead of the 2017 season. Under Snitker, the Braves won six National League East titles, reached the postseason on seven occasions and went on to defeat the Houston Astros in six games to claim the 2021 World Series.

After a slow start to the season, the Braves finished their 2025 campaign at 76-86, fourth in the NL East.

Snitker finishes his Braves tenure with a record of 801-665 (.546).
