Who is Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon?

With the Las Vegas Aces playing in the NBA Finals for the third time in the last four years, new WNBA fans may want to familiarize themselves with the head coach in charge of this potential dynasty.
Of course, OG fans of the league already know the Hall of Famer leading the charge in Vegas, but for those just coming around, her name is Becky Hammon, and she was a basketball legend long before her time as a head coach.

Hammon has been in charge of the Aces since 2022, winning championships in her first two years with the team before losing in the semifinals in 2023 and bouncing back with this year’s finals appearance. Prior to her time with the Aces, she was an assistant coach for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs for eight years where she broke several barriers as a woman and eventually became the first woman finalist for a head-coaching position when the Portland Trail Blazers hired Chauncey Billups in 2021.
Before her coaching days, Hammon played 16 years in the WNBA for the New York Liberty and the San Antonio Stars (who became the Aces in 2018). She was a six-time All-Star who made four All-WNBA teams and was enshrined in the basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
