Deputies: Haywood Mall shooting suspect also charged in shooting from March

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said a suspect charged in connection with a recent shooting at Haywood Mall has now also been charged in a March shooting.

On Monday, deputies said 18-year-old Kalief Terrill Walker and a juvenile were arrested in connection with a shooting at a home on Dobey Drive on March 27.

According to the sheriff’s office, Walker and the juvenile fired multiple rounds at the home after the pair got into an altercation with the victim outside the residence.

Walker was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The detention center said he was denied bond on all charges.

Officials said Walker was also arrested following a shooting at Haywood Mall on June 13.

Investigators said that shooting appeared to be isolated and began as an argument among people who knew each other, which escalated into gunfire.

Greenville Police said Walker was shot in the shoulder and neck, and a woman who appeared to be an uninvolved bystander was shot in the foot.

Walker was granted a $15,000 total bond on the following charges:

  • Breach of peace high and aggravated
  • Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
  • Possession of a stolen pistol

Police also said Walker’s brother, 17-year-old Kamari Stephone Walker, was arrested and charged as an adult with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
