Red Wings development camp brings in new draft picks
Draft picks from recent drafts are getting a workout at the practice rink inside Little Caesars Arena this week.
Detroit — The Red Wings stayed busy adding to their roster late Wednesday, acquiring rugged forward Keegan Kolesar from Vegas.
The Wings sent a 2029 third-round draft choice and 2027 seventh-round draft pick to Vegas for Kolesar, 29, who has spent the last six seasons with the Golden Knights.
Kolesar played all 82 games last season, with six goals and 11 assists for 17 points and a minus-14 rating and 55 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2, 216-pound wing is known for his forechecking, ability to win board battles and ability to deliver hits.
The Wings added to their lineup Wednesday, signing forward Viktor Arvidsson, goaltender Daniil Tarasov and defenseman Jacob Bryson, along with re-signing forward Carter Mazur.
The Wings are awaiting word on veteran forward Patrick Kane, who hit the free agent market but has not ruled out a return to Detroit.
