‘A Capitol Fourth Concert’ rehearsal closed to public because of heat

The arrival of a blistering heat wave in Washington has put an annual Capitol Hill tradition in jeopardy.
The Thursday evening rehearsal for the “Capitol Fourth” concert, on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, is no longer open to the public, and a decision about whether the concert will take place as planned will be made by 10 a.m. Friday, according to a Capitol Police statement.
