A still-unknown number of celebrities rolled up to Madison Square Garden last night for what appears to have been Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s rehearsal dinner. Among the dressed-up people seen discreetly ducking into black cars was Taylor Swift’s high-school best friend, Abigail Anderson Berard. You may remember Berard as the “Abigail” named in the lyrics of Fifteen and Ruin the Friendship — two songs about Swift’s high-school days — but did you know her hair could do that?
Berard was photographed leaving the Ritz-Carlton in New York on Thursday night in a drapey yellow Reformation dress with a sheer asymmetric cape that she kept on, at least for the paparazzi. Her choice in wedding-guest attire may be the most relatable thing we see this entire weekend. In what may or may not be an ode to her best friend’s debut-album look, her hair was piled into ringlets. She was also, as Swift is wont to do, rocking a red lip.
Swift and Berard have been friends since high school, and as far as we know they have stayed close throughout Swift’s career. In mid-June, Berard was photographed on the balcony of Swift’s Rhode Island Mansion with her toddler in what is widely believed to have been Swift’s bachelorette party. It’s sounding like bridesmaid to me. Shout out to Abigail for staying close with her high-school friends and also giving us some heat-wave hair inspo. I hope she had fun!
