Philadelphia Shooter May Be Targeting Gay Men

Philadelphia police say a 21-year-old is sought in connection with three late-night shootings in the same neighborhood, two of which were fatal, reports ABC6. A police news release identifies Jahylin Melchur as the suspect in the Hunting Park shootings between May 29 and June 26. NBC10 quotes law enforcement sources who say the shooter may have targeted gay men. The lone survivor of the attacks, a 55-year-old, told police the shooter walked up and announced a robbery before opening fire. The two men killed were ages 29 and 45, and both were shot in the back.
