Thirty-two teams have advanced to the knockout stage at the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, with the first round taking place between Sunday 28 June and Friday 3 July.
After that period, 32 of the original 48 teams will have returned home, with the next phase scheduled from 4 to 7 July.
