Coco Gauff came from a set down to defeat Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in an all-American Wimbledon quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday.
Pegula settled quickly, breaking Gauff’s first service game en route to claiming the first set. But Gauff battled back to win the second set, and carried that momentum into the third set, eventually winning in decisive fashion.
Prior to this year, Gauff had never advanced further than the fourth round at the All England Club.
The 22-year-old will face either Naomi Osaka or Karolina Muchova in the semifinals.
