Police were called to the incident just after midnight on 14 September.
The indictment states Cosgrove was so badly hurt that he died at the scene.
Ward faces a separate charge of assaulting a woman at the holiday park.
Other accusations include a further claim that he attacked a man with an axe in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire in May 2025.
A trial is scheduled to begin in September 2027.
At the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Wemyss Holiday Park said they could not comment on the investigation, but that they extended their deepest condolences to the family of the victim.
