Susanna Reid took a swipe at a This Morning presenter during the latest live broadcast.

The 55-year-old host was back on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday (July 7), presenting the day’s news from Britain and beyond, alongside co-presenter Ed Balls.

During the programme, Susanna and Ed spoke with actress Vanessa Williams, who is preparing for her final performance in The Devil Wears Prada musical in the West End.

Shortly before transitioning to This Morning presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard while Lorraine is on hiatus, Susanna asked whether Vanessa was a fan of Tipping Point.

“I love Tipping Point!” Vanessa responded, with Susanna observing: “That’s good you said that,” before passing over to Ben and Cat, who outlined the upcoming This Morning segments, reports the Mirror.

Pointing towards Ben and Cat through the camera, Susanna added: “Ben Shephard is right there, waiting to hear that you watch Tipping Point every day,” as an enthusiastic Ben remarked: “Vanessa, lovely to see you. Sending lots of love! Thank you for being such a big fan.”

The This Morning duo were seen enjoying ice creams on the blue sofa, because it was “so hot outside”.

Making a cheeky comment about Cat’s off-the-shoulder outfit, Susanna then quipped: “It’s so hot, Cat’s dress is falling off!”

Ben swiftly responded: “Yes, it’s supposed to be,” before Cat explained: “It’s a one shoulder number.”

Continuing with the programme, Ben said: “Shall we tell you what’s coming up? We’re going to be finding out about the viral ice cream makers that you can get. Are they worth the hype? This one certainly is.”

Cat added: “Also, staying with the heat. How do you stop yourself becoming a sweaty mess in the hot weather. A one shoulder helps me! Dr Zoe has the sweat solutions you need.”

Cat and Ben also revealed upcoming segments featuring Strictly Come Dancing champion Chris McCausland and TOWIE personality Lauren Goodger.

Elsewhere on today’s GMB, audiences expressed frustration as the presenters devoted substantial airtime to the continuing Prince Harry news. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will not be residing at the palace during his London visit this week, despite his representatives stating he had accepted such an invitation.

ITV viewers rapidly shared their grievances on X (formerly Twitter), following a royal dispute that unfolded during the live broadcast. “#GMB is obsessed with Prince Harry,” one person wrote.

Another contributed: “#GMB desperate to make a story out of nothing. Pathetic,” while a third stated: “Who actually cares? The constant discussion about this is boring and getting ridiculous.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am, while This Morning airs at 10am
