Derby park cordoned off after reports of assault

A Derby park has been cordoned off by police after an alleged assault was reported.
According to officers from Derbyshire police, the incident is said to have taken place at Stockbrook Park either late on the evening of Saturday, July 4, or in the early hours of Sunday, July 5.
Residents said a section of the area had been cordoned off, with access to the majority of the park still open.
A spokesperson for police said the force understood a man was involved in the alleged assault and that he was known to the victim, who is reported to be a woman.
“Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area or has video footage from the area during the above time period,” the spokesperson added.
