Fox News viewers have slammed host Kellyanne Conway as she discussed the sexual assault allegation against Graham Platner.

Platner, 41, is facing calls to resign from the race to become the next Maine senator after a woman he dated accused him of sexual assault. Platner has vehemently denied the allegation, describing it as “categorically false.” Appearing on Fox News’ Hannity on Tuesday, July 7, Conway branded Platner a “predator,” but viewers pointed out how President Donald Trump has also faced a number of sexual assault allegations, all of which he’s denied.

Conway, who was stepping in for usual host Sean Hannity, was joined on Fox News by Senator John N. Kennedy. He fumed, “This guy is just, he’s a predator. He is a predator. And you don’t want him anywhere near power.” The president has also spoken out about the allegation against Platner.

Conway replied to her guest, “These allegations of abuse and assault, disparaging our military, calling them fat and you deserve to die, he said to one of our troops, and the Nazi tattoo, it just goes on and on and never seems enough for your colleagues across the aisle in the Democratic Party to chuck this guy.”

She alleged this showed “Democrats don’t believe all women, they chuck that to the side when you’re talking about a swing state.” The TV host added, “You’re not talking about morality here, you’re talking about electability. They’re not counting up the victims of Graham Platner’s abuse, they’re counting votes.”

A clip of the Fox News program was shared on X, with viewers admitting they thought Conway was speaking about Trump. “Kellyanne describes Trump perfectly but can’t connect two dots,” one person suggested.

Another asked, “I think they’re talking about Donald Trump?” while a third person echoed, “Thought they were talking about the orange pig.” One X user commented, “Funny how you all care now about such allegations… Trump gets a pass though, huh?”

Someone else admitted they thought the “most outrageous thing about this conversation is that they are not talking about Trump.” A sixth person commented, “Oh yeah, kind of like Trump. No, not kind of like Trump but exactly like him, except he was elected president by MAGA folks just like these two.”

The 80-year-old has been accused by more than two dozen women of predatory and inappropriate behavior towards them, though he has vehemently denied the allegations. Trump also sparked controversy in September 2005 when he was caught on camera saying, “I don’t even wait and when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything… Grab ’em by the p—y. You can do anything.”

Many suggested it was akin to Trump encouraging sexual assault. Trump apologized for his comments when the tape was made public in 2016. The tape was used as evidence during one of his trials against E Jean Carroll in October 2022.

Carroll initially struggled to build a case against Trump due to his presidential immunity, but she then filed a defamation lawsuit against him after he called her a “liar” over her New York Magazine article on her alleged assault. Following a trial in 2023, a jury found Trump was liable for sexually abusing Carroll and defaming her by falsely denying it, which impacted on her reputation.
