OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Former Nebraska wrestler AJ Ferrari has been arrested by Douglas County Authorities.
A release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says Ferrari, aged 24, was arrested in a Douglas County residence after the DCSO’s Special Operations Group (SOG) had been working tips.

Ferrari had an outstanding warrant out of Lancaster County on the charges of:
- Assault by Strangulation/Suffocation of a Pregnant Woman, 3rd Degree
- Domestic Violence Assault 3rd Degree
- False Imprisonment 1st Degree
DCSO says SOG investigators were watching a home where Ferrari was allegedly staying near Bennington. Around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, a woman was seen leaving the residence to get into the truck in the driveway of the home.
The woman was followed by a man crawling out of the garage and entering the rear passenger seat of the truck. That man was identified as Ferrari.
SOG investigators then followed the truck in unmarked vehicles and notified the DCSO’s Uniformed Services Bureau (USB) of the truck’s location.
USB units performed a traffic stop in the area of 204th Street and Grand Avenue, where Ferrari was taken into custody without incident.
Ferrari was then booked into Douglas County Corrections on the warrant.
In late June, Ferrari was arrested in Lincoln County on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and obstructing the police. He was cited after a trooper chased a Corvette in the North Platte area.
Court records show that the woman has filed for a protection order against Ferrari. A hearing has been set for July 7 to give him an opportunity to show the court why one should not be issued.

Previously, Ferrari was booked in Lancaster County, Nebraska for an outstanding warrant in January of this year, but those charges were dismissed later that week.
Ferrari parted ways with the Huskers in April of this year.
