Sheriff: Washington murder suspect shot, killed by police in Seaside

SEASIDE, Ore. (KPTV) – A suspect linked to the deaths of two people in Pierce County, Wash., was shot and killed by police in Seaside, according to the Pierce County Sheriff.
The sheriff’s office says 24-year-old Hayes McCloud was identified as a person of interest after two people were found dead in Pierce County.

The first victim, a 35-year-old man, found dead inside of a Puyallup, Wash., home when deputies responded at around 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8. The initial investigation indicated that there was “homicidal violence” in a bedroom that eventually led outside the home.
Deputies say a second murder happened around 30 minutes later in the Tacoma area.
Both murders appeared to be targeted, but the sheriff’s office says the motive is currently unknown.
FOX 13 Seattle reports that the victims were shot and killed, and were also related to each other.
At around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said McCloud was contacted by police in Seaside and there was a “major incident.”
The murder suspect from the homicide on Woodland Avenue also shot and killed a person in Tacoma.

Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank said on social media that McCloud was shot and killed by police in Seaside. No officers were hurt.
