SAN ANTONIO — A United States Post Office on the North Side is temporarily closed after a driver accidentally crashed their car into the building on Wednesday.
A spokesperson with the United States Postal Service said the front lobby area was damaged at the Lockhill Post Office along Huebner road.
No one was hurt but the building will be closed while repairs are made, including retail operations and access to the P.O. Box lobby area, according to USPS.
“Damages are currently being assessed, and the timeframe for completion of repairs is not known at this time. We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we work to make the necessary repairs,” USPS said in a statement.
Retail services for Lockhill Post Office customers are available at the Cedar Elm Post Office, 5837 De Zavala Road.
Mail for P.O. Box customers will be secured at the Lockhill Post Office until it can be safely retrieved.
